Pre Procedure Instructions

(Initial each line to confirm you read, understand and agree.)

Inform Jennifer if you are allergic to any of the following:

  • Lidocaine anesthesia. (If so, you would’ve had a reaction during a dental procedure.)
  • Latex gloves.
  • Benadryl. (Causes restless legs syndrome on rare occasions.)

_____ Feel free to ask all questions necessary during consultation and prior to the procedure until you feel confident and comfortable.

_____ Find a good date when you will be relaxed.

_____ If you have a nervous or anxious nature, ask your physician to prescribe helpful medication such as Valium or Xanax. Always required for eyeliner procedures.

_____ Avoid alcohol and any blood thinning medication such as coumadin or aspirin for 24 hours prior to the procedure.

_____ Come in with a clean face. Do not wear makeup.

_____ Be punctual to your appointment.

_____ Upon arrival, take 2 Benadryl. This will help reduce tears and swelling. It will also make you drowsy.

_____ Close your eyes and relax during the procedure, quietly. This will enable Jennifer to concentrate and provide you with the most precise artistic results and performance.

_____ 7 Day Cancellation Policy. We have a very limited schedule, please make sure you are ready to commit before making your reservation. If you need to reschedule, let us know as soon as possible. Last minute cancellations will be charged, no exceptions.

Eyeliner Procedures

_____ Do not wear contact lenses during eyeliner procedures and for 72 hours after. Come in with prescription glasses.

_____ Bring sunglasses. Your eyes will be light sensitive and dilated immediately after. Sunglasses will also protect from UV rays.

_____ If you are using Latisse, discontinue using for at least a week prior to the procedure.

Lip Color Procedures

_____ Have you ever had a cold sore or fever blister? If so, you must take preventative medication such as Valtrex to avoid a massive breakout. Contact your doctor in advance to begin taking the prescribed medication before, during and after your procedure.

  • Apply an extra generous amount of ointment prior to showering.

  • Avoid steam (from hot tub or showering with hot water for prolonged time.)

  • Avoid direct water pressure.

  • Keep chemicals away from treated area.

  • Do not expose to sun or tanning bed.

  • Do not swim in fresh, salt or chlorinated water.

  • Avoid heavy perspiration (Salt removes pigment.)

  • Avoid exposure to unsanitary environment.

  • Do not apply topical cosmetics directly over the area during healing.

Lip Color Additional After Care

  • Do not bite lips into food.

  • Cut food into tiny pieces.

  • Do not stretch the lips.

  • Drink through a straw.

  • Keep smothered with ointment at all times.

  • Avoid sticking to pillow while sleeping.

  • Keep mouthwash, toothpaste and ALL substances away from lips!

What to Expect During Healing

  • Swelling, redness, bruising and itching is normal and to be expected.

  • Outer healing (dermis) may take 7 – 10 days and inner healing (epidermis) about 6 - 8 weeks in most cases. Age seems to have a contributing factor and varies per individual.

  • Touch ups may be scheduled at least a month after a procedure, not sooner. Performing a touch up prematurely could cause scarring and the healing process will interfere with pigment color and retention.

  • Some colors take 2 months or longer to settle in and show true results. Brows oxidize and get darker before they soften during healing. This is normal.

  • Scabs are dark. They will begin to come off naturally between days 4 – 7. A lighter color will appear underneath. The new skin will have a waxy texture at first and fog the design, perhaps even making it appear gray or blueish until it matures and becomes more translucent.

  • Lighter and/or darker colors may be applied to eyebrows in a hairstroke technique at follow up appointments to achieve desired results and dimension.

  • Advanced enhancements can be added and tweaked during additional sessions.

  • To achieve satisfaction, additional tweak sessions may be necessary.

  • Exposure to sun, anti-aging products and services containing acids, lighteners and exfoliants cause unwanted evolution of pigment color. Avoid the pigmented area.

  • We would love to see you at least 6 to 8 weeks after your procedure. We will not see you sooner as results would be inaccurate.

  • Remind your laser operator to protect your permanent makeup tattoo.

  • Keep it fresh! Come see us every year for a touch-up.
